Zoneminder Feisty Fawn Ubuntu 7.0.4

Post by oslick »

There are two .deb packages on the zoneminder site. One for draper one for edgy. Can I use these for the newer Feisty Fawn, or should I compile it myself

You're the second person to ask today :)

Feel free to build it yourself, otherwise I hope to build (and do "sanity-check" testing only) for Feisty over the weekend.

I just did a fresh install on a new feisty install with the latest edgy zm deb. Worked fine, with a simple workaround. See the wiki, where I updated it with instructions for feisty... I did not include camera info, since that can be situation specific. I am running a cheapo BT878 card and can give additional info on how to get that running.

Let me know if it needs amplification...

If the workaround was the reconfigure of /bin/sh from dash to bash, then I'm concerned. One of the main points of my -6 release was to get things working with dash. Can you tell me what errors you were getting?

Thanks

Did a re-test on Feisty and the dash fix is working, so updated the wiki. Only workaround now is to change nph_zms to zms so that I get reliable streaming for localhost., and I had to add www_data to the video group to allow access without chmod every reboot.

BTW, running Xen on feisty so real easy to boot guest edgy and feisty versions to test stuff...
