OK.. Been poking around. Got a new error!
When trying to playback from this monitor 1 I'm working on, I get an error that this host (the windows machine) is not allowed to access the MySQL server.
That could be the cause of the other problems as well. Perhaps I need to change a setting in MySQL on the ZM box to allow hosts besides localhost to connect?

Hey Casey,
Yeah I have it locked down to the local host, You have to enable it in the mysql config file so that it will open a port on the network, then you have to add allowed hosts.
I got you message as well and I have the 64bit version but the installer backgrounds are still all fubared but it's usable as the rest wors. Same one you downloaded before if I remember correctly. Some new versions are in the worx though, I just don't have as much time these days so it goes abit slow.

Hey Corey...
Thanks for the reply. I have found the my.cfg file (or something like that)... what line would I want to add?
Actually, I may have already gotten it to work by adding a user@host where the host is the windows box. Viseon is able to pull up the database now, but for some reason it sill will not pull any images out -- it tries but I get the X or a generic image icon in the screen.
It feels like its a problem with the path setting for playback events, but I've tried many things there! My path to events is /usr/lib/zm/html/events but those events are a link from /opt/events... I've tried both of those with and without leading path marks, to no avail.
Anyway, I've found another way to get the jpegs off the box and once they're on my Mac I can open them as an image stream in Quicktime Player and save them out as video.
I'm going to try installing a distribution from Bluecherry, an Ubuntu based setup.

Hmm. Thought I had tried that, but maybe not after I fixed some other issues. Yes!! /zm/events/ works for the playback path.
There's probably no reason to troubleshoot this since I'm on to other things, but though I can now see the events play back, when I choose to export them as video, mpeg or avi, there is an x image in that window, and though it goes through all the frames in the exporting process there is no file created by ffmpeg.

if playback works for you but export doesnt then its a bug as it should use the same path setting. If you have no joy let me know and ill have alook to see where i slipped up. YOu will need ffmpeg.exe installed to export vids ont he windows machine

I would like to try this app, but can't seem to find a way to download.
I must be missing something! I've been to www.jpwilson.eu but there are no links there.
I feel kind of dumb! What am I missing?
Thanks

Yes... I'm not sure why it's not linked, but I'm pretty sure James will not mind if I tell you it is here:

Hi,
I have a problem with zm4ms 2.81 beta (didn't try any other version)
I get the timeout
Camera Vies closed due to a user timeout. Please reload your requested view
so I went to program settings -> Timers
and I unchecked "Auto Timout After" X hours
then I hit save , but it still closes all the camera after an hour :\
I tried that a couple time and on 3 different machines I get the same thing
I want to run zm4ms on a box that has no keyboard/mouse and is permanently displaying the cameras
also is there a way to have "borderless" camera windows, I think I saw some screen shots of something like that
ideally I'd like to have 8 cameras full screen on 2 monitors with no taskbar /menubar or any other bits of windows visible on any of the monitors, is that possible ?
thanks
