I must be an idiot

Post by zardo »

I'm running Fedora Core 1, I installed zm with the following with:

./configure --with-mysql=/usr --with-webdir=/var/www/html/zm --with-cgidir=/var/www/cgi-bin --with-ffmpeg=/usr/include/ffmpeg --with-webuser=apache --with-webgroup=apache

No errrors during the install, creating and starting the database. However, there are no files in /var/www/html/zm/ !?? I am missing something totally obvious? I'm assuming that if everything is properly installed, i would start with http://<IP>/zm/ , right ?

thx for any input,

zardo

Hi zardo,
Forgive me for asking, but since your post doesn't say so:
Did you run 'make' and as root 'make install' in the zm build directory?

Also I use http://localhost/zm/

Hi Ross,

You confirmed that i am an idiot. I had not run "make install" - BTW, the README has only "make", so for the other newbies out there, you need to run "make install" after running "make".

If you're new to installing from source, and you have ZoneMinder working, give yourself a pat on the back.
It may not be rocket science, but its not point and click either.
