Debian Sid/PV 149 problems

I have a PC AMD SEMPROM 512RAM with PV149. I just installed Debian SID, apt-get install zoneminder then start configuring. Have 1 camera on /dev/video0 channel 0, with PAL I get a wired image but at least can see something with NTSC I see nothing but a black image and sometimes a a 4px line on the top thats seems to be the camera image.

I've been researching around web+zoneminder.com. Just changed the card=77 in /etc/modprobe.d/bttv and the same history the default detect card was 98.

will donate to the project If get help to solve the problem.

Are you sure your card type is 77?
I would think if the kernel for your distro configured for anything other than generic, it's probably correct.
Actualy I'm sure it's correct as those cards are all supported by the kernel.
Let the kernel set it as 98.
With out more info though, it's difficult to trouble shoot.
Have you tried the troubleshootig sections of the README?
What are your settings?
what does zmu report?
Does it work from xawtv or tvtime?
Have you hooked the camera up to a TV to make sure it produces a proper image?

the fact that its rolling shows to me its not happy witht he card choice

YOu havnt dropped the frame count to 0 have you?

no I havent put the framerate to 0.. should I try it?

Another thing is that I just installed X and run Xawtv and put NTSC it shows the pictures full color and no line or errors..

I have this capture card and 98 is definitely the card number that should be used.
I had a similar problem with one of my cameras a couple of years ago, it turned out to be a voltage problem to the camera.

Looks like a bad connector on the camera or a power issue / interference. Try connecting the camera directly to a local power source and the PV-149 without using an extension cable.

the thing is that when I run startx and xawtv and switch it to NTSC I start to get color & smooth pictures.. so think not a conector problem... what do you think?
