People, please, im being desesperate... i dont know what more to do. bought a asus a7v600-x motherboard with 4 capture cards bt878 pci with 4 inputs each to 16 cameras. zm was working right for a while, but now, in console, some colors that dont match for monitor function and the label source. for example in modect, should be all green, but some ones is getting orange... and also, there is NO RECORDING, just events with 0 seconds of duration... i have alredy seen this, it was because de database table Frames.MYI was corrupted... but not this time. anyone please has a clue.... im gonna crazy...

No I don't think I've seen this before, though I don't have much information to go on.
If you are getting zero length events then that implies that things are working until an event is created and then dies. This would suggest either (a) the directory that events are stored is not writeable or (b) the events and/or frames tables in the database are broken (was this an upgrade?) or (c) something else.
Phil,

I don't really know what else you might need to do as I don't exactly know what you have done already. Normally to go from 1.18.1 to 1.19.1 you would run the zmalter-xxx.sqlm scripts to upgrade the DB, copy your old zmconfig.txt into the new build directory and then run zmconfig.pl -noi and then make and install the new build. You may also need to run zmupdate.pl (check the ChangeLog in the README) if you want to keep your old data.
If you have run the zmschema.sql file now, does that mean you deleted your old database?

No you don't need internet. Zmupdate.pl runs in two modes, one is as a background process looking for new versions. This does need the internet but is not necessary for the rest of ZM to work. The other mode is to do certain changes, like renaming event files from previous versions. For instance it will modify the zones, the format of which has changed between 1.18.2 and later versions. You may find it easier just to review and manually update them however.

Philip, thanks, i have executed zmalter and now thats all right.
im whatever with another problem, but i think is something about hardware. everything works ok in text mode... when i up X window to see some cameras i can see a while in mozilla. then, X11 lock and the only thing that bring it up again is REBOOT AND BOOT into slackware boot cd nd run reiserfsck --rebuild-tree in partition.. it gets corrupted after the freeze of X. also occur kernel panics with it. sometimes , even IN BOOT CD SESSION, i cant run reiserfsck cuse it show me a kernel panic message after few moments, telling me that it tried to kill init...
im with an asus 7v600-x motherboard with vt8237 southbridge, an AGP8x nvidia video card and duron 1.400 with 512 of ram... the temperature of processor somethimes goes to 54-55º .... and when things go bad with reiserfsck i just can run it again after disabling DMA.
VERY STRANGE. i m really worried.. maybe via and its chipset cause the problem. it couldnt be software, because it also occur when booting from a slack 9.1 cd somethimes.... any clue ?
OOOHH AND IMPORTANT... what do you think about create a zoneminder IRC channel ? could be placed at irc.linux.org. i think it would be VERY NICE.
thanks phil and all
