Thanks for the reply cordel, sorry about my slow response, I have been away.

regarding running mediacheck, I have SME version of linux based on RH7.3, and SUSE 10.0 but mediacheck is not available.

I tried installing the disk in an ASUS server, dual xeon with 2 x 76GB SATA drives and the same error occurs. Also in a VMware box which I know can run it as it has been running their before but the same error occurs again.

Believing the CD to be faulty I burnt another with a different utility but the same thing happens. Thinking it might be my torrent download is corrupted so I have deleted the iso file and downloading again from the torrent.

Sorry to say a redo of the torrent and the cd iso burn on another computer have produced the same error.

The system boots with ferodacore 7 so will use that and try and get zoneminder working.

I just installed a brand new FC7 box. installed zoneminder via yum, but I can not find a directory called "/usr/lib/bin"

[root@desmoquattro lib]# cd /usr/lib/bin
-bash: cd: /usr/lib/bin: No such file or directory

I find some "zm***" files here

[root@desmoquattro lib]# cd /usr/lib
[root@desmoquattro lib]# zm

but no zminit. does anybody have the same problem?

before I tried to create user zmuser with passwd zmuser and database zm manually, but zoneminder did not seem to work.

any help is welcome
