open platform USB hardware for ZM

I have seen some discussions on using X10 and Insteon hardware with ZM.

I am interested in building a home security monitoring system. We have a few 2 MP Arecont Vision IP cameras i want to play with.

But also I would like to setup door sensor and glass break sensor and motion detector triggers to sound alarms, call my cell phone, etc.

I found a USB device that will allow this but it is windows drivers only.

Is there something similar that would work with ZM?
I am not particularly fond on X10 based on prior usage, but if that is the only solution, I would consider it again.
