Configuring Zoneminder autostart Bluecherry Live CD 1.49

Post by pattp »

How do I get Zoneminder to autostart in the setup from the Bluecherry Live CD 1_2-pv-149 (Xubuntu 6.06.1 + Zoneminder 1.223 + maybe some Bluecherry tweaks - downloaded at http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_ ... bluecherry ) . I installed the Bluecherry Zoneminder Live CD on the hard drive . I set up Xubuntu for auto login and that part works fine . I tried using "settings manager" going to " autostarted applications " add and browsing , and selecting and placing the Zoneminder desktop ( Zoneminder console ?) info in the box . It is now in the autostarted applications list with a checked box . I logged out saving the settings and rebooted . Zoneminder does not auto start. This program looks great but I am brand new to Linux and really need some help with this next step . - Thanks

Every zoneminder I have done starts on boot. (In most I never even log in) Is yours not starting, or are you trying to view it in a web browser on boot?

Lee - The Bluecherry Live cd 1.49 installation that I installed requires a click (execute ) an icon that reads "start zoneminder " - which does seem to put it in Firefox (?) so I am trying to make that happen by adding the appropriate command in the autostarted programs option . I am very confused .

Zoneminder is started by default from /etc/init.d/zm

What you are referring to on the Desktop is a Firefox link that opens http://127.0.0.1/zm

If you can get to it with a web browser on another system, ZonemMinder is up. If you want to watch it on your system, you may want to look into xlib_shm instead. It should be easer to launch on startup.
