I lost my best friend
Sorry for a sad post, but at 19:40 10/1/2007 My best friend left me today and its hit hard. Its a terrible thing but the poor sod was riddled with cancer and the steroids had stopped controlling it, and i decided when i got home (i take him to work as he had his own space in my office) that the time had come. I rescued him in 2001 and have had the last 5 or so very happy years with him. You dont realise how hard it is to say enough is enough when you know what that mean. Anyway Blue was a wonderful loving and very loyal dog to me and i will miss him terribly.
Regards James

We lost one of our cats a year or two ago. He's the black one in some of the original screenshots. He also had cancer and though he had a brief remission he went downhill quite quickly and died lying on his cushion in the April sun right under where the camera was. Cats are not really the companions that dogs are but it's still terrible to see them go, especially when they've been around for so long. My daughter still tears up whenever we mention his name.
To put a bit of a ZM slant on it, while he was ill and confined indoors initially I had a camera on him to see if he ever got up to eat or drink or whatever. It was very useful to know that even if he didn't move in the day, at night he was getting up to feed and drink.
