Axis 213 PTZ settings

Post by jedibyte »

Hi -
I am having troubles getting an image to show up from my Axis 213 camera and was wondering if someone could help me with some settings.
Here is what i have:
Remote Host Name: ip address
Remote Host Port: 80
Remote Host Path: /axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=4CIF
Remote Image Colors: 24 bit color
Capture Width (pixels): 640
Capture Height (pixels): 480
Orientation: Normal
I would like to disable anonymous access to the camera and supply a user and password but I enabled anonymous access for testing

For the Axis camera i have these default settings:
Aspect Ratio Correction: On
4CIF (640x480)
Compression: 30
Rotate Image: 180
Color Settings: Color
Brightness: 30
Video Format: Motion JPEG

any ideas? No image shows up when i click on the name of the camera
I have another local device that works great. I do not have another network camera to test with. Thanks ,

Try the path as;

/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=640x480

I've always used absolutes and not had a problem - it could that not all firmwares support the shortcuts.

I am still experiencing the same issue. If i enter this path in a web browser the image comes up from the camera. it is not streaming it is just one still image. The browser seems to be delayed as if it is trying to refresh.

the path im using in a web browser is
http://<ip address>/axis-cgi/video.cgi?resolution=640x480

Thanks for your help,

Define "web browser".

Internet explorer does not support mjpeg.

Firefox does.

Might be worth dropping Axis' technical support a line, they're often quite helpful. The 213 is a fairly rare beast and I've not got any personal experience with them.

Um, another thought. Shared memory - see the FAQ. 640x480 normally needs that fixing.

hit F5 (refresh) and it will get going.
if common sense is so uncommon, why is it called common then?

Thanks. I got it working by increasing my shared memory. Instructions found in the FAQ http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ

Thanks again, Now to try PTZ control .
