'sudo passwd root' (no quotes) will change the root password. We don't give out the root password.

The FAQ is here: http://www.bluecherry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1

Thanks

Thanks.

Curtis - This works when you boot to the Live CD but appears to be set back to default when you install.

How do you change the default passwd if installed to a HD ?
It asks for the password ?

I put the Live CD images on Sourgeforge several months ago. There is no difference between the CD images except the mysql tables are preconfigured for 4 ports (/dev/video0-3) on the PV-149 and /dev/video0,0-0,3) on the PV-143

Or as Curtis mentioned, did anyone offer to host the BlueCherry iso or is there a torrent?

I would happily buy it, if I was using it for a job, but as I am just 'playing' with the whole concept just for interest, I cant really justify it. AND I am impatitent :)

I am a linux newbie, have been using Linux now for about 2 months, mainly the Kubuntu distro.
Still trying to sus out a quick way to shut down the Mandriva ZM Live CD, have resorted to just pulling the plug from the wall at the moment, the whole logout, wait, eventuallly select shut down methood, just seems so long winded, 3-4 minutes to shut down the machine just seems toooooo loong

When the install everything is reset back so once you boot from the hard drive you need to execute this command again:

'sudo passwd root' (no quotes)

Thanks

Hello:

I just wanted to pipe in and say that I've used a number of Zoneminder pre-set distros (and one disaster I did from scratch on FC3) and I think this one from Bluecherry has been the best.

Highly recommended!
