TV Tuner card

Post by black6 »

The is probably a stupid question but...

Is it possible to configure a tuner card to allow the user to switch between cameras across more than one server using the remote? Basically what I would like to do is connect a basic computer to my TV's aux port so when I am channel surfing at 01:00 I can check up on the cameras without sitting at my computer. Yes, lazy but useful.

ONly way i can see to do this is to use a gfx card with a video out, and show the machines desktop, maybe with the shared mem viewer, or a windows machine with zm4ms. There is no way to pipe raw video back out of zm. You might be better with a modulator and a quad.

I was thinking of using the video out on the card to display the computer desktop on the TV but is it possible to use the remote to switch the desktop view from camera to camera? I've never experimented with tuner cards.

a tuner card will use a tuned signal ie normal tv. If you have a means of mixing all your inputs onto this feed then yes. If you want zm to do this then no
