disk full.. maybe a solution.

Post by fernando »

phil will be hard to include to filter.pl a funtion to delete the oldest events if a variable " set by user" 90% of the disk where events are stored, are used.

the idea is to aboid archived events. cuz if you archive an event means its important.

i dont know its an idea. maybe others users have some ideas too. :!:

Automatically deleted events?

Post by steve2 »

Hi all,
it could be a great feature to have the old events deleted automatically.
I mean either:
1. keep the disk usage below (say) 75% by deleting oldest unarchived events
-OR-
2. keep only specified number of days, weeks, months on disk (unless archived in database)

Any idea how to do it? I hate to invent the invented ...

events per page

Along the same lines, how about an option for events per page in the event filter. That would make it easier to delete a lot of events. View all takes a while to set up when there are a lot of events and you click check all and then there is no delete button when it's done. Maybe even sorting by various things like file size, frames, monitor, zone. That would make it easier to see if you have a real alarm or a bunch of false alarms

That operation can be heavy for the system. We should be able to specify the time of the day when that purge of events should happen. (when the system load is smoother).
