so i set up all 4 of my videos to record, but when i got into the office this morning zoneminder wouldnt load, so i checked the server and of course it was full. i have a place to store all the video but i do not know how to automatically redirect the saved files to the file domain that i want it to be archived in.
well i have a secondary storage drive which alows me to store a ton of video i forget how much but alot more than the other hard drive on the server i just dont know where to go to change the command of wher i want it saved
If the drive is on the same machine, move the events folder to the new drive, then create an events symlink to the events folder on the new drive. Just make sure you stop all ZM processes else zmaudit will come allong and delete the database files as the events are being moved. Also be a really good idea to backup your database files and those will likely need to be repaired after you get some space on that drive. Do not start ZM until the move is compleat and you have gone to the web console and verified that you can see the past events. Once you have everything in order, then you can restart the machine.
well that kinda helped, but i ran into another issue, i have no idea where the video is saved, or even the file path, is there a way to tell what the file path is when the video is being saved automatically off of zoneminder? i dont want to go around and start removing things off of the server at random...
unfortunately im not the one who set it up, im gonna kill my boss for putting me in charge of this project haha. do you have any idea on what the typical name of the file that would be downloaded on the HD, like a section of video or event that was saved does zone minder automatically name it
