Changing events directory

After installation can you change the location of the events directory? I changed the path in the options and made sure the permissions were setup correctly, but when I restarted zm no events were created in the new area. Am I missing something obvious here?

check chown and chgrp, chmod to user of zoneminder, this will be the same as /var/www/html/zm/events

ls -lh on this directory.

think you could ln the directory to your new location
