Random broken images

Post by LucaTNT »

Hi, thank you for the great software!

I've used ZM on OpenSUSE 2 years ago, but not very much.

Now I use Kubuntu 7.10 and ZM 1.22.3 with a simple Logitech Quickcam (the same I used with OpenSUSE).

The webcam is set as monitor, and sometimes it shows a broken image:
Image
instead of the correct one.
I noticed that in the syslog there was this error:

Code: Select all

[12169.377707] quickcam: frame lost
repeated over and over.
I think this is due to a too high framerate, but I set it 1 FPS.

What can I do?

is your load ok? As USB cams use CPU a lot, outside ZM.

Yes, it was.
I'm not at home now, but I'm sure that load was between 0.50 and 0.70, so I think it was ok

Broken images

Ubuntu 7.10, ZoneMinder 1.23.2 (though I experienced the same with 1.22.3-10), Firefox 2.0.0.12

When I view a monitor, or montage, often the images don't show up the first time when browsing on the actual server with firefox. A reload often but doesn't always fix the problem. Running the same version of firefox on my nearby windows box doesn't experience this problem. Konqueror doesn't seem to have this problem on the server.

Any thoughts? I could switch to konqueror on the server, so it's not a huge deal, but it's weird.

On a side note, my 5 640x480 cameras in montage view show up cropped in Firefox (either platform). In konqueror, there are scroll bars attached to each image. In Firefox, there are not, though the arrow keys will move a clicked image. Just checked IE6 on a windows box, no scroll bars, arrow keys don't help. (Not that I have any intention of using IE)

Type about:config in Firefox's address bar.
Alter the following parameters to 100:
network.http.max-connections
network.http.max-connections-per-server
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server
Restart Firefox. 8)
