Problem with new TrendNet TVIP201 camera

I have the 1.21 64 bit-FC3 version (from CTU) running just fine on an AMD 64bit box. I use the TrendNet 100 and 200 cameras without a problem. The TVIP200 has been replaced with the TVIP201. The TVIP200 produced JPEG images and the TVIP201 now produces M-JPEG images which when using IPView software produces *.avi files. I cannot seem to get the new TVIP201 working with ZoneMinder. The camera does work (with IPView and using the built in Java server) and the ZoneMinder console shows "green" like everything is working. There just is no viewable image and no recording is happening. What am I missing? I can provide the IP address if that helps someone look at it.

i would expect its a path issue
are you sure you new cam is outputting mjpeg or mpeg
If you cam is availabel as well as your zm box i can take a look, but the cam will do

This is Comcast dynamic address so it will be good for only a few days. This is just looking in my family room. The working cam is the older TVIP100

This is a second system on my home network. I have tried to put the TVIP201 on port 81 and forwarded that post on my router to that ip address and port on the Linux box. It is not cooperating at the moment. I will work to get this to work yet tonight (during your deep sleep).

Strange thing is that I can access the TVIP100 on the Linux box when the port is set to 81 or 80 thru a browser. I still cannot get to it thru the 81 or 80 port at 66.41.240.200. I will work on that part.

But, even when I change the port on the TVIP201 to 81, I cannot access it on the Linux box. It seems to only work, even locally-- on port 80. I tried 81 and 8080 but no go. Makes me really wonder about the device. I will update soon.

yes if it wont respond on any ports but 80 even when changed in config id suspect the firmware of the cam. Dont suppose there is an update is there

I will check the trendnet site. oddly enuf, it does not work at all right now. I do have five other cameras like this so I will pull one out of its box. I am going to try to reset the one I am using first.

Out of the box, the address for the browser is 192.168.0.30. Make sure your NIC is on a 192.168.0.x network. I have had problems making this work with a crossover cable so I use a switch and AC adapter on the camera. Once the image displays, click on Administration and the login and password are admin and admin. There are many settings, but I only make three:

Add a user (i.e. login as user1 and password as user1);
Change the frames per second to 7 to slow down network traffic and;
Change the IP to a different network. I use 2 cards in the pc-- one for the cameras, one for the web; I just use a 10.10.10.1x for each camera with the pc NIC (thus camera gateway) set to 10.10.10.1. DO THIS LAST. Save and reboot.

James helped with the image capture settings. The ZM settings are basic:

General tab set the name, type as remote, function as record, enabled is checked, linked is blank, max fps as 7, alarm as 7 and blend at default. (Set the max & alarm fps as desired.)

Source tab set remote name as user1:user1@10.10.10.1x, port as 80, path as /goform/capture, image as default, width as 320, height as 240. (The user1:user is the login and password you set on the camera)

That's it. Works like a champ. Obviously, you can change the fps for the camera and zm recording to what you want/need.

There are obviously more setting in zm options tab and maybe for the linux you are using-- but this should get a TrendNet TV-IP201 working. If I missed something, someone should update this as needed.
