Re: Permission denied in logs
Hi Andrew,
These permission denied errors are usually caused when you've been running part of ZM as root and then try running it as a less priveleged user (which is the normal case). The best fix is to totally shut down ZM, make sure that no copies of zmdc.pl are running and then delete the zmdc.sock file (normally in /tmp). Then start up ZM again from the web interface or by using the startup script.
Cheers,
Phil,

Re: Permission denied in logs
Hi Phil,
I'm making progress!!!!
I run the zmpk.pl as a apache user and found that I was missing a few perl modules, that wasn't being shown before hand!! I then had the 'Malformed UTF-8 character' error on RH9.
This is outcome of my logs now, I noticed there is a lot crashing processes there in then... Any light you could help shed on it?

Re: Permission denied in logs
Hi Andrew,
I think we may have two parallel thread going here. But the main place to look for why things are crashing is in /var/log/messages though some distributions filter out error messages and put them in other files in /var/log so it might be worth checking there. Do a grep for ERR if your not sure which files to try.
Cheers,
