Static URL to unsupported cams
Static URL to unsupported cams
I have a wireless webcam that I bought that is unsupported. It would be great if there was a way just add a static url to cams that are not currently supported. That would give a single console for all cameras. Just the ability to launch the link to the camera would be a step in the right direction.
Would you care to elaborate on that?
I don't understand what you mean add a static link where?
How would this be a new feature or how would it work?
All your camera configuration is covered in 8.1. Defining Monitors in the manual where you define your path (link) to the camera.
What camera do you have?
Why do you think it not supported?

I have a Hawking HNC320W. I have seen old posts that it can be made to work, but it requires breaking my existing cams. It requires some java client to access so it is not likely to be compatible soon. I have been using ZM for a while with great success and am familiar with configuration details for usb/local and IP cams.
What I am looking for is for the source to be the actual source. Meaning, if I put a camera at 192.168.1.10, when I click on the camera name, the static link directs me to that IP. A simple check box in the config for "static" would tell the interface to ignore all other settings and just launch the URL entered in the configuration. Of course there would be no data collection, but it would allow me to at least use the camera from a single interface. I am sure there are many, many cameras people have bought that do not work that are just collecting dust. (the newer Dlink ones?)
Thank you.

Yeah I wish I could be that fast, but duty calls and I must go to work I also just got an assignment 1300 miles away from home so hopefully I'll be back in a few weeks.
but I have one of those feelings it might be a six week trip
And from something I seen on another post, I'm going to embellish on this feature a little
So not only to have the link available but also an option to be able to retrieve the feed from the camera directly in the zm monitor window so that the zm server does not have to provide the feed for remote cameras (like the axis which can support multiple simultaneous feeds).
Since they are very simular in nature.
