Does this one work well?
As far as requirements, will a Pentium II with a bit over 600mb or ram or Pentium IV 1.6gHz with 1gb ram work well with ZM?
Also, what kind of discount will you get by entering the keyword Zoneminder at checkout?
Is this: Astak CM-818W Wired night vision weatherproof camera with builtin audio, 100 feet of cable, and power supply
a good camera to use?
One last question.
I only need 1 network card installed and if I want to use 16 port card as menton above then all I need is those 2 cards and ZM to setup and the cameras? then a lot of cable i presume (which will probably really add to the shipping cost if its coax, heaver) vs. BNC. If the card itself has a Coax connector then there is no need to convert any of it to RJ45 other than some RJ45 cabling is more flexible, but BNC has a much thinner character and is much more durable with the exception of the BNC connectors tending to come loose if their not tightened down well.
Thanks..[/b]
Bluecherry cards, specifically PV-981 and ZM.
I have not used PCI-e for capture yet. No reason to, so I didn't try. I have used several PV-155s and they work well. Get heat sinks for the BT878 chips, however. (This goes for any card)
As to size, half a gig of ram is minimum. I have gone as low as 1.4ghz. The system must be headless, but will do fin with up to 8 cameras. For more, get as much ram as you can.
