rtsp native support?

Post by harty83 »

Is there any ETA for rtsp native support in zoneminder? I bought these gadspot n1250 without fully doing my research and now of course I'm regretting it.

I used the instructions here http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11475 in an attempt to capture the stream but am running into ffmpeg codec issues in ubunu hardy heron, even with the latest ffmpeg svn compiled.

Thanks!

When 1.24.0 rc1 makes it out it might work. No ETA though as it's being worked on now. When it's ready it will be announced.
Again there is still no guarantee as I would not be surprised if we run into similar issues as we do with mjpeg. It might fair better though because rtsp I think has a standard so, we have yet to see.

RTSP has a standard that everyone has their own take on. The basics are the same but how fast the mpeg4 feed is sent, what protocol (UDP / TCP), resolution and how the feed is "disconnected" are kinda different between most cameras. This has been a battle for Phil on 1.24 so far.
