Controlling Vivotek PZ6112 with ZM
Controlling Vivotek PZ6112 with ZM
Hello, I've trying to control my Vivotek PZ6112 with zoneminder.
That camera uses the same controls as the one in this post:
http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... ht=vivotek
I have NOT been able to get a shred of success.
I've followed the guide in the post, and nothing.
Then I noticed it was for a really old version of ZM and tried to adjust accordingly, changed paths and stuff.
Still no success.
I believe it's not even using the script, as I am getting this error en error.log:
"Can't connect: No such file or directory at /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Debug.pm line 349
ZoneMinder::Debug::Fatal('Can\'t con4r55nect: No such file or directory') called at /usr/bin/zmcontrol.pl line 153"
I also read in the post that zoneminder said this script would be added to the next version (said so in 09 Jul 2003). So I'm wondering if maybe I just can't find it....
Can someone shed any light on this matter? I really, really need to get this working....

Your are correct, that script is for a older version of ZM. Unfortunately none of us have this cam to redo the control script and test against so it's not included in the main trunk as we have nothing to test against as things change. Since 1.23.x all control scripts have been converted to perl modules so it would need to be completely redone and we have no way to make sure it works.
I've been playing around with the module, and the truth is, I can't make it work. I'm not even getting any errors in error.log, the camera just doesn't move.
I followed the instructions in the original post to set up the options in the database. I moved the module to "/usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Control", where the rest of them are, and it is simply not working. Is there something I'm missing?
I'm using ubuntu-server 8.04 and zoneminder 1.23.3
