Is this one of the kodicom cards I've read about on the forums?
Has anyone tried it with ZM ?

options bttv card=77,77,77,77,77,77,77,77
also work with 133.
i wrote on wiki, also someone wrote about kodicom 4400r. one strange think is that when i change source for monitor or add new monitor i have to restart zoneminder. but generaly works very good

Looks just like all the clones. First, You need heat sinks on those chips! If you don't get them, you will put them on your next card in 6 months. That said, in your options file, put;

Code: Select all

options i2c_algo_bit bit_test=1
options bttv gbuffers=16 radio=-1 tuner=4 card=102,102,102,102,102,102,102,102

Thanks Lee
I just ordered a set . I was planning on adding a fan on the case cover or the rear as well. It will keep my feet warm at least.

It works But has issues

Post by Alan87i »

After a tiny bit of hair pulling I got the cameras to work with this card
640x480 10 fps or better.

The options I have in there now are card=105,105 8 times.
There are 5 monitors set up.
For a while only 2 would work no matter what I did.
Then it hit me , I plugged into the bnc dongle 1,2,3,4,5 and only 2 cams would work.
SO when I changed the source for the cam plugged bnc 1 from video 0 to video 7 it popped up.
I set modect on 3 of them and left it for the night.
This morning the PC was locked up. The Screen was asleep and I could not log in from the console on another PC.
I did a hard reboot and found that it had recorded on a cam outside 2 minutes before I rebooted the system.

I have to wonder if the 8 buffers is enough ?
Also The pc is a intel 2 Ghz with 1.5 gig of ram.
I have doubled the allocated memory from the amount listed in the ubuntu install wiki
The box the card came in recommends a 2.4 Ghz cpu!
Any thoughts
Thanks

Forgot to mention Before I installed this card I had 2 single chip cards
There's 3 pci slots I had 1 in the top and 1 in the bottom.
I first tried this card in the top slot and the PC would lock up shortly after booting. It's in the middle slot now working.
I changed the options to tuner=4 gbuffers=16 card=77,77,77,77,77 ect
I'll let it run there for the day and post later.

What Log can I check for the lockup I found this morning?
Thanks

I tried the options Lee posted
options i2c_algo_bit bit_test=1
options bttv gbuffers=16 radio=-1 tuner=4 card=102,102,102,102,102,102,102,102

Works
But with either or driver I get slow streams and interlace at 640x480 Sometimes it looks like it missed frames in modect.
I have to wonder if the PC can't handle the work load.

when things get tight, recording has all priority, even over the desktop. I had a CPU throttling due to heat. It was "locked up" but still recording. What kind of hardware are you on?

A gigabyte motherboard socket 478
Intel Not celeron 2 gig cpu and 1.5 gig of ram.
Using a 64 meg Nvidia card for the monitor.
It smartens up if I lock all the cams to 5 fps @ 320 x 240 with 5 cameras.

I'm wondering if a dual core new machine would let me run at 640x480

Ack! Viewing on the server Kills it! Try the QT based viewer, the xlib-shm, or another system. I don't even run X on my servers most of the time. (Or if I do, it is a stripped X)

Oh I don't use the server for viewing .
I have 2 or 3 XP machines and a laptop for that.
