A lot of resources

One or 2 cameras is fine, but as i add more my box can't keep up with the required resources.

I have a fresh Debian install solely for ZoneMinder. It's a P4 with 1gb ram, 250gb hdd.

The zma process seems to be using 100mb or memory and 10% cpu.

I am using the mode modetect.

Is there any options i can set to have zoneminder use a little less resources. If not, can you suggest some system requirements i would need for5 cameras.

Lower the frame rate on each cam.

would that be the "Image Buffer Size (frames)" option ?

No Frames Per Second (FPS).
