If you can't get ZM 1.23.3-3 on FireFox 3

Post by snake61 »

Loaded ZM 1.23.3-3 on Ubuntu 8.04 on a eeePC 901 series with Firefox 3.

Typed 127.0.0.1- response is that Firefox is currently in offline mode and ZM won't load. Went to "File", unchecked "Work Offline" and re-typed 127.0.0.1 and resulted in "It Works!" then typed 127.0.01/zm and zm came up.

So new to this, don't have an explanation as to why, but if you had the same problems I had, try this.
Thanks for all the Help.

eee-ubuntu uses a couple different network managers for the wireless and nic, if you don't have either one connected to a real network, it brings firefox up in offline mode.
Rather annoying really. Just watch out for the Firefox 3 bugs as the will certainly be a headache on a 901 very quickly. I know on my 1000 they do anyway.

Ubuntu-eee on 901 with Firefox 3 and ZM 1.23.3-3

Works just fine outside of the annoying "you must be on-line" requirement.

ZM 1.23.3-3 works like a charm and was a breeze to install.

Only other problem I see is with possible noise from computer. Currently using an Axis 211A with a 25' rj45 directly to laptop. Notice when you plug in to AC wall outlet, noise in video from camera, which is probably coming from laptop fan or power supply.

Other problem is ZM always shrinks to, I'm guessing 640x480, when I navigate to other areas, e.g., options, stills, etc. Now that's annoying.
Thanks for all the Help.
