How have others used this feature? Fifo? regularly update the file with new images, etc? I'm wanting to send images from a machine that is behind a firewall and would like to know if anyone else has had experience with using the File source type.
Typically the file must be accessible on the machine that ZM is installed, whether put there by ftp or possibly through a smb although I have not seen it used with smb yet. If you search the forum I believe I recall someone creating a sock file to provide an image. Use of this method runs at 1 fps to avoid read errors.
I've run into a problem. I am updating ZM using a VPN from a remote site using samba. Due to bandwidth limits I am updating the file with a new jpeg about ever second. However, before I go live with this I tested loss of connectivity. When I do, and the file doesn't get updated ZM does something to stop checking and once I regain connectivity and begin updating the file again I have to restart ZM. I've looked through the code and cannot find anything. Anyone more familiar with the code that can help me figure out where I could comment out the code that may be causing ZM to sleep?
