Hello everyone,
back with a new environment:
Fedora 9 (64 bit)
ZM 1.23.3
Apache 2.2.8
PHP 5.2.5 with Socket Support Enabled
Previous environment
RHEL 5 WS Client
I have to say I have spent many hours attempting to get ZM working complete with Controls for a AXIS 215 PTZ
I gave up with the RHEL 5 WS Client. I found myself fetching half the Internet to install.
With Fedora 9. I still found a lot of additional code is required.
Is there a definitive list ?
Also, although I specified Apache Group and User during the ZM build. I seem to still have many permission issues. Is there a Howto for this anywhere ?
I would welcome any guidance.
Present Situation is
The PTZ appears to be capturing data, but "stills".
The Control GIFs appear but not respond.
I will make a donation once I'm able to demonstrate a running PTZ.

So there are not many Axis PTZ 215 Users
Hello All,
I would like to correct my statement about producing still pictures. ZoneMinder is capturing motion correctly.
The Controls situation has me baffled. I have turned up Debugging and so far I have not seen anything on the critical list. I did notice a number of *.sock files being created with 0 bytes though. I will scan the logs again.
The PTZ works well using Firefox, so it appears I've done something wrong setting up ZM.

A minor miracle (for me at least)
the following caused the camera to move
the following caused the camera to move
zmcontrol.pl --id 2 --command=moveConLeft
