Beginner Problems. Need some help : /

Post by Linuxnub »

Hi, i'm currently using Logitech QuickCam E3500 series USB webcam. I've installed zoneminder on my kubuntu. However when i go to the console page and click on the camera. a pop up box appears with nothing in it. No Picture and 0 fps. The Status is on idle too. Any zm experts mind helping a newbie with this problem? Thanks alot! :)

What do the apache logs say?
Are you sure the cam was properly detected and the correct drivers loaded?
How did you configure the camera in ZM?

hi im answering on behalf of linuxnub. The apache log says that the bit tolerance is too low and i need to change it. I know the webcam is detected because i can use Xawtv and even grabbed image from it. I configured the webcam as by 320x240 size, Pal, and Yuv420P

If you get an image grab through xawtx then it should work with ZM.

What permissions are the device ( ls-l /dev/video0 )?
