Instant email alert

I have Zoneminder 1.23 working fine. I have a few cameras setup and with 'modect' enabled and I am getting a list of events in the camera watch window but I can't seem to get zoneminder to send me emails when the alarm happens. The email setup is also working because it will send me emails for past events but not when the event happens. I want to be instantly alerted via email when there is motion. I know it has to do with the filter setup. Can someone who has this working please send me an example.

ZM does not email on the instant of an alert. The filters pickup events only after they are closed (completed) other wise the filters would have no statistics from the event to work with to send the highest score image, duration, etc...

There is the zoneminder perl module that can be used to create a perl application that allows an interface to ZMs monitor status so it is possible to create an app to email the instant of an alert/alarm.

ZoneMinder.pm installs with ZM.

What if I was to set up a filter that sends an email 5 secs after triggering the alarm? What is the expression for 5 secs?
