Downgrade only the frontend to from 1.24 to 1.23.

Post by freeman.bg »

After long period of testing i realize that PHP framework on ZM 1.24 is the reason firefox to crash after i open 3 montage views. I tried almost every configuration option in about:config of ff3 and ff2 and there is no result. The browser is totally freezed up after 3-th window of montage view. In the same time the CPU is only 24-50 % load.

Because there is no problem with PC-s where is running 1.23 version, is there any chance to downgrade only the PHP Frontend from 1.24 to 1.23?

I have to ask: Are you trying to open 3 montage views from one Firefox session?

Just out of curioustiy I decided to see what I could get 1.24 to do and as I type this I have a montage view running on localhost (bad idea I know, just testing), I have 2 machines upstairs running (laptop and desktop machines) a montage view and I can't get a 4th connection from my HTPC.

I'm running Opera on all machines.

Yes, i am trying to open 3 montage views from one Firefox session. But the problem is not in the server side. The problem is on the client side.

Begs the question, why would you want to? But hey, to each their own.

Running short on ram perhaps? What OS?

On both OS - win XP and linux . The reason to open 3 or more montage views is that i must view cams from 4 zm pc-s on 1 PC with video card with 4 video outputs.

Sheesh. 16 cameras? Way out of my league. 16 simultaneous streaming feeds at one time on one machine? Have to do the math but me thinks that you'd best have lots of ram and one heck of a video card on the machine you are trying to use as a client. It'd be sort of like watching 16 tv channels all at one time, no?

Here is the situation:
I installed 8 PC-s with ZM with 16 cam capture on each (KMC4400R is the capture card). Now 4 of the PC-s are runni ng ZM 1.23 and the others are running ZM 1.24. I have a client PC with 4-outputs DVI video card with 4 monitors. When i open 4 montage views from 4 PC-s running ZM 1.23 there is no problem. I am watching 48 cams in real time.
Then i close all montage views.
I open only 2 montage views from the PC-s with zm 1.24 and I can not browse nothing else.

I can't begin to speculate what is going on. As I'd mentioned in an earlier post when hosting with 1.24 (1 card, 5 monitors) I tried to open a 4th client connection (3rd remote) and couldn't.

Any indication in your logs as to what may be going on?

I had to ditch my 1.24 install for now (disk space issues) and until I find time to reconfigure this system I won't be doing any testing. Kind of a bummer since I see that Phil put a new release up just over 12 hours ago.
