New install on FC10 - ERR [Select timed out]

Post by ianafh »

Hi

I have recently installed Fedora FC10 on a system using hardware that was known to be in a working state.

The installation appeared to work as it should and I have a basically working ZM installation using three Axis 221 network cameras. ZM is configured to capture 1FPS from all cameras.

However the capture rate does not appear to be stable. Looking at the LED on the rear of the camera that shows network activity it has periods of several seconds without activity followed by a second or so of rapid flashing. I used to see a regular 1 sec flash when I had the system running before.

Have I missed something in the installation?

I am able to point a browser at the camera and see live images as expected.

Below is an extract from the log that shows the error messages.

Code: Select all

Would appear to be a network issue of some type and there is no response from the camera.
Can you ping it or wget an image?

Hi Cordel,

Thanks for the info.

I can ping all of the cameras and they all show fairly consistent ping times of around 0.4 to 0.5mS.

wget seems to work too. Very odd.

Pointing the browser on the ZM machine at the cameras shows the image as expected.

In ZM I do see images some of the time, but eventually the time out occurs and the camera source turns red on the main ZM page.
