Blank picture on QuickCam Pro 3000

Post by maino82 »

Hello,

I am running ZoneMinder 1.23.3 (from the repositories) on Ubuntu 8.10 with a Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000. Everything seems to be working fine except that the "source" is shown as being red and the picture comes up as blank and 0fps.

I tried investigating the shared memory issue that I see pop up on a lot of forum posts, but the fix in /etc/sysctl.conf doesn't seem to have made the issue go away (even after a reboot). The cam works fine in vlc and xawtv. I've tried changing the permissions on /dev/video0 to 666 and 777 and changed zmfix to 4755, but still no go. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Update

Post by maino82 »

Just a quick update in case anyone else encounters the same problem with this cam. For some reason it was not correctly detecting the format using the "auto" option, so I just had to set it manually.
