Need ZM rpm for Mandriva 2009 (Solved)

Post by gola10 »

I am a Mandriva user. Has been happy with ZM 122.3 from Mandriva 2007 livecd.
I am about to replace my old ZM computer with one that has a network card rtl8201CL which is not supported by 2007 and has not been able to configure in Mandriva 2008. Also tried th ZM livecd pclos 2008.7 and did not recognize the network card. So i am installing Mandriva 2009 that hope recognize it. Adding pci network could be an option but it has only 2 pci and need it for a second card in order to connect 2 more cameras.
So the question is. Are there Zoneminder RPM for Mandriva 2009 as they are for Mandriva 2008. If not, Can i use Mandriva 2008 rpm on Mandriva 2009.

Zoneminder RPM for Mandriva 2009

Post by gola10 »

Just found this article http://mib.pianetalinux.org/miblight/20 ... nder-1233/
At the bottom there are some package name

Mandriva 2009.0
zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm
perl-Device-SerialPort-1.04c-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm

so i did a search on google for zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm and found this repository http://mib.pianetalinux.org/2009.0/i586/progs/ where zoneminder RPM is.

In the same article some perl RPM are mentioned
Mandriva 2009.0
perl-X10-0.03-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
perl-Astro-SunTime-0.01-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
perl-PHP-Serialization-0.27-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
which can be downloaded from http://mirror2.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/m ... .0/noarch/

There seems to be 686 packages too.

I did a fresh install of Mandriva 2009 and then installed Zoneminder. It complains for a dependency of a package containing Lame library but then added the PLfree and PL non free repositories and the dependency was found.

at the moment i am having some trouble with httpd and hostname but also in this article is mentioned the solution for this problem.
I will try it this weekend since this week i have not have time.
Hope this information help someone else.

UPDATE
Just finish to fix zoneminder in Mandriva 2009 and was able to login
FIX
1. rpm -e mysql
2. rm -f /var/lib/mysql/mysql/*
3. /bin/hostname 127.0.0.1
4. urpmi mysql

It was not so easy as that. When tried to remove mysql it complained that was needed by zoneminder so i unistalled zoneminder and then run the FIX.

Then i installed again zoneminder as it say on http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... and_1.23.1

Mandriva 2009.1 (Spring) and zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0

Post by Rick1 »

Hello, i have some trouble installing ZM. Here is so far what i did. I downloaded these packages:

libffmpeg51-0.4.9-3.pre1.14161.1mdv2009.0.i586.rpm
liblame0-3.98.2-1plf2009.0.i586.rpm
perl-X10-0.03-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
perl-Astro-SunTime-0.01-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
perl-PHP-Serialization-0.27-69.1mib2009.0.noarch.rpm
perl-Device-SerialPort-1.04c-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm
zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm

I installed one RPM after the other (but i did this by running them out of Dolphin, does that make any difference?)
That looked all good, the only thing I got, if i remember right, was when i opened zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm. I got an errormessage saying something bout a bad signature or somthing like that and it asked if i want to install it anyway. I said yes.

Then i followed the instructions in http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... and_1.23.1

Starting with creating /etc/zm.conf then:

service mysqld start
service httpd start (tells me apache is already running)

then
/usr/lib/zm/bin/zminit
thats where it says bash: /usr/lib/zm/bin/zminit: No such file or directory

so i checked and there is no sign of any zm directory anywhere. I guess something went wrong with the installation but i have no idea where. If i try to reinstall zoneminder-1.23.3-69.1mib2009.0.i586.rpm it passes without any messages.

What can I do about that?
