changing from a alias to a virtual host

Running ZMLarchCD

I have commented out the working! alias stuff and added a virtual host instead. However when i restart apache and point my browser to my.domain.net:20080 something is not working right and i get

Safari can’t open the page “http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:20080/â€
