VirtualBox Problems

Post by lwsiv »

I am attempting to get a test setup in a VirtualBox based VM. The host is XP, and I am using the ZMLarch latest distro. The "live cd" version seems to boot fine, but when I go to install (by clicking on the "Install" icon on the desktop I get numerous py (python) error dialogs.

Any ideas.

An aside question. What is the distro base for the ZMLarch distro (Fedora, Slackware, Debian??).

Any help appreciated.

I've seen this alot with virtualbox. Not sure why it's so fussy.

First use gparted or cfdisk to setup your virtual hard drive. Then restart the virtual machine.

You may still see errors but by closing the installer and trying again you can get past them. Frustrating but persistance will prevail :)

Arch Linux is the base for ZMLarch

I put up a VM disk image. Just the last iso installed to an 8GB dynamic VMDK. You can get it from the same place as the iso.
