64 bit

Post by NedraE »

I would like to use the "plain vanilla" install guide to do a 64-bit installation.

What changes would need to be made in configuration, etc. ??? :?:

I'd like to not use shmall and shmmax.

I would prefer to use the new memory management.

Add --enable-mmap=yes to the configure line. Make sure you have a tmpfs partition, usually /dev/shm, that is large enough. On most systems it will be without having to change anything.
