How do you delete filters?

Post by j1mw3b »

I don't seem to be able to delete filters.
E.g. I create one that named "deleteall" and qualify it with monitorID <= 3.
and check the delete match box.

Later on, I want to delete the filter, so click delete, it asks for confirmation, but the filter remains. So in order to disable, I end up unchecking delete match box and resaving it.
There is no feedback from the delete confirmation as to success or failure.

I see the filter list in the mysql DB and for now I just deleted the afflicted filter via webmin.
Would like to find out why zoneminder won't delete them - it must have permission to create them, so why not delete them.
zm_admin has permissions select, insert, update, delete to the zm database, and only on localhost. I tried adding my real hostname, but to no effect.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Jim

This works for me with the current svn version so it may be something that has been fixed since your version (which I don't think you mentioned). You can try the svn version and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for reply.
I am currently using the version that I downloaded via Yast in OpenSuSe 11.0.
Zoneminder-MP 1.23.1-4.1 from http://www.liquid-co.de/pub/suse/repositories/11.0/

I tried building from source and ran into great difficulties with other supporting pgms, so abandoned that for the Yast install.

I will again attempt to rebuild from source, but has to be later.

It's working so well for me right now that I can live with deleting filters manually via sql.
I'll get some more info from your functions.php once I understand a bit more.

Thanks again,

Jim

PS. Great program. Unbelievable! Will respond to your nag soon.

This is the forum section for 1.24.x. If you are running 1.23.x you should post in the 1.23.x forum :)
