added 3rd NTSC cam(color) but get GREEN screen

Post by Doug »

I've got 2 B/W NTSC cameras working and just tried to add a color camera but what I get is a green washed picture selecting YUV422P. But get this, when I select RGB24, I get 3 images repeated in the upper 1/3rd of the video display area.

I was running with v1.19.1 but upgraded to v1.19.5 to see if that fixed it. Nope.

This camera is from the same manufacturer as the 2 B/W ones and is the same except it's color( same 320x288 res ). Any idea?

hmm, swapped camera 1 with camera 3 and the whole system locked up. After putting the cameras back and rebooting( couldn't even ssh in ) I no longer get the 3 little images in camera 3, it now works( only grey but that's a shmem issue ).

weird. Oh, when it locked up after swapping Cam1 with Cam3, the display showed Cam3 with 9 small images. goofy.

What capture card do you have? I think I read somewhere of problems with some cards that didn't consider all ports equal and treated inputs from them in different ways.

It's the 8 port( I can only use 4 ) Kworld 800 model with the bt878 chip( just one ).

FYI, I saw the post about newegg.com having a cheap cature card and saw that they have both the Kworld 800 and 400 models. Looking at the pictures, it looks like the 800 has a small chip and the header( ext 4 ports ) added. I'll be looking at the chip to see if it can be addressed the via PCI or atleast what it might do for the extra 4 ports. It kinda sucks that they put ports 1-4 on the external connector since it chews up a PCI slot. :-/

Sorry for reactivating this topic and bad english.

I have a capture card with 4 ports and 2 b/w cameras on port 1 and 2 and a third color camera on port 3. To resolve the problem with green image on camera color I put capture palete on camera 1 to YUV420P.

If I put Grey on camera 1, color câmera (port 3) change to green image or if I put YUV420P on camera 1 and YUV422P on camera 3 the color is strange.

Well, i only put the same capture palette on cameras and color will be beautiful. :D

I don't know if there is a way to see the FPS in either of those programs but the 878 does 30fps on a single device.
