Hi!
Is it possible to hide a camera behind a smoked glass?
i was thinking to hide it into a wall behind a small glass to make it resemble a "keep door open" fotocell (the receiving side) like those applied on fences or so.. but im not sure whether i can find some smoked glass that still let the light go through..
Any other idea to hide the camera outdoor and avoid for it to be detected/destroyed/stolen?
Hide camera behind a smoked glass
i mean on the side of the small way to the house there is a garage with a door like
like this :

or this:

and what i would like to do is to hide a surveillance camera on one of the two fotocell housing
(those in the wall on the side of the door, like

or

obviously removing the fotocell, and placing a camera.
Now, supposed that i manage to make the housing for that, these fotocell housings have a plastic glass that is basically an IR filter i think.
What should i change it with to make happen that from the outside is not possible to spot the camera, but the camera can still "see" the world?

i found this:

is such kind of glass available and suitable for what i want to do?

If you kill the lights in the area, get a camera with nice IR sensitivity, and some IR illumination, they won't be able to see the camera or much else. But that's a rather pricey option, and has it's own difficulties.
Covering a tree with copper plating, creating dragon-heads out of the branches, some with lights in the mouth, some with cameras, has worked for me in the past. Probably still more effort that you're looking for.

The sad thing is I'm sure you had fun doing this while getting paid!coke wrote:If you kill the lights in the area, get a camera with nice IR sensitivity, and some IR illumination, they won't be able to see the camera or much else. But that's a rather pricey option, and has it's own difficulties.
