USB Webcam - No picture

Hi Guys,

I know there is a plethora of posts about USB webcams but I still can't get mine to work.

If I do a zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v I get a valid response so it can talk to the camera. However when I setup the monitor and try and view I get a black square. in /var/log/messages I see

May 28 00:37:51 cctv zmdc[2562]: ERR ['zmc -d /dev/video' exited abnormally, exit status 255]

Can anyone help me please. I have plans to use many more cameras around my house but can't even get this simplest of things to work. I am on Fedora 10.
