I was planing on puzzling out zoneminder on a spare slow machine then putting it on the fast one that already runs the monitor system. There is only 256 megs of mem so I think this is the issue.


I can see the cameras with xawTV, and am using the cards suggested by this web page.


The problem is that when I boot I can see the cameras and then after a bit they stop working and go black or blank out.


So its either a configuration problem or the slow system.

try running htop see if cpu is maxed for a long time
