Why no audio recording feature?

I have been looking at different security systems before coming across ZoneMinder and few offer the feature of audio recording during video recording. Is this a feature that could be added easily to ZoneMinder or is it something that there is just no demand for? Could ZoneMinder trigger another application that I could use to separately record audio? I'm not sure how to integrate the two so that I could simultaneously have audio and video playback. Anyway, thoughts

adding it to zoneminder is not overly easy, zone minder stores events as static jpegs, you could probably add something to constnatly record it in zmc or a seperate app entirely depending on the exact feed source and requirements.
