Bleaching on reboot

Post by buzz_host »

A silly question this. I've gone over bits and pieces of documentation but can't find a fix.

If I reboot the monitor settings change the contrast/brightness and bleach out the image. Can I make the settings persist on reboot?

I must be missing it some place?

To follow this up, I still get this problem when I restart the box ZM is hosted on. The 'settings' fields loose their normal settings and fill with this for Brightness, Contrast, Hue & Color;

32768

Anyone know how to stop it doing this?

32768 is the default. You are setting something else and it is resetting upon restarting? Are you using a LiveCD or compiled install?

Default Debian apt-get AFAIR.

Can I stop it from 'resetting' or start?

I'm assuming your using a web cam maybe?
If you are using a capture card, make sure you disable any un-used inputs.

Web cam drivers seem to usually have an issue with this. I have seen a few posts that you might try searching for with the string "<usb> contrast brightness" that should turn those posts up.

Nope, not a webcam. I'm using the defacto BT card with all 4 inputs in use. This is driving me crazy. I don't reboot the box that often, but I have to remember to change these settings across 4 cameras when I do.

I discovered it when we needed to take some footage off the machine only to find that it had reverted to the default settings rendering the images useless.

I guess all I want is a way to make the figures I set persist through a reboot.

The only thing that comes to minder is a couple of your cams might be in a darker area?
On the BT878, it will try to balance out all the active inputs, settings on a device apply to all the inputs.
Are the values for brightness and contrast being saved in the DB or are they still set at -1?
