Quick install option

Post by rdmelin »

I am suprised that no one has commented on the "quick install" option, available at the boot prompt by pressing F5. Perhaps no one has tried it. C'mon, where's your sense of adventure? :)

I used it on more than 10 installations.

Everyone try it, will change your way of thinking a linux installer!!!

Go on then Ross, now that you've teased us, explain what it does and why it's so great... :)

OK I'll give away the punchline.
The "quick install" option simply switches the display to graphic mode and paints a screenshot of the kde desktop, mozilla, and zoneminder on the monitor. It is a little disorienting if you don't know what to expect as you seem to go from a boot prompt to a desktop in about one second.
Just my attempt to add a little humor. :)
