New Generic IP camera (Wireless)

Post by c0mputerking »

Hello all i have picked up a couple of new IP cameras and obviously cannot get them to work heehee. They came with absolutely no documentation I have contacted the supplier to see if i can get some infos from them they have not responded yet.

Can get the camera to work with internet explorer (requires and active X control to be installed) However It does not work with my MAC under any browser (firefox, seamonkey, or opera)

Have the camera added as the only monitor and always just get a black box.

I am using zoneminder version 1.24.1 and Arch Linux the ZMLarch CD built by rdmelin big thanks to rdmelin for his CD. I have tried several random setting for protocols and paths but do not really know were to begin so i hit the logs looking for errors found these.

Jul 20 23:09:31 263 zms[3045]: WAR [Unable to store frame as shared memory invalid]

Looked through the FAQ, and docs but might be a bit overwhelmed as to what to start looking/troubleshooting. Have looked through all the settings for the camera cannot really find anything to help me out.

PLEASE HELP

The shared memory and shared data errors will come up if ZM is unable to get an image from a monitor - so those are safe to ignore until you get the actual path of your image.

Do the cameras have a web interface? If so, is there a link to view a snapshot? If so, you should be able to view the source of that snapshot and use it as the path. The path may also help you figure out (by guessing) other possible paths (video.mjpg, mjpeg.cgi, etc).

If that doesn't work, download Wireshark and report back.
