Does anyone know if the performance of any of these chips has been compared: BT878a, SAA7130, CX23881 and/or TW680x?
I want to know if there is a noticeable difference between 8-bit (878), 9-bit (7130) and 10-bit (23881 / 680x) as far as processing power, so that I can pick a card that will use the least amount of CPU on my system.
Also if anyone thinks there is noticeable visual improvement from one to the other I'd like to hear that as well. I've seen SD tv captured on a 878a based card before and it looked pretty good, but a comparison I found on google of the 8 and 9 bit chips capturing an image with fine lines showed a clear winner with more bits. For surveillance cameras does it make a difference to folks?
Thanks,
Performance
