cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmall

33554432

I got that with half a gig then added another whole gig and got the same thing, then I took a camera and a card home and tried them there and shmall'ed 33554432 home too

This a project I've been working on off and on for a few weeks trying to get it up and running, and I'm new to linux so maybe the same 33554432 number with different amounts of memory with two different computers is normal but it does seem a bit odd.

I'm using ubuntu 9.04 and what I think may be the issue is its an AMD64?

So what I'm wondering is perhaps a problem?
