ZMLiveCD 1.22.3 (Mandriva 2007.0) - Updates?

I'm running a system with ZMLiveCD 1.22.3. It's working reasonably well, but due to the age of Mandriva 2007.0 I'm having problems finding RPM packages for it, as well as support for newer hardware that I'd like to use (or hardware such as Silicon Image SATA to work without corrupting data).

Is it possible to update the distribution to Mandriva 2007.1, 2008.0, 2008.1, 2009.0 etc, or will it break ZoneMinder?

It will break

It's not practical to try to update. Best to install fresh with an up to date OS. You can try my archlinux based ZMlarch or there are a couple of ubuntu based installers. There are also ubuntu and suse packages.
