64bit

Post by plice »

hello,

Does ZoneMinder support 64bit ? Can i run it on a 64bit (freeBSD) ?
Also I got PCIE slots, not PCI, any support for PCIE (i guess shouldn't differ, as long as OS supports it? ) but will some PCIE cards work to hook up the cameras?

thank you

hello,
I've run ubuntu servers and desktops. It crashes a lot, i wouldn't recommend it for more advanced stuff.

I just realised that zoneminder is mostly script software(right?) so it will run on 64bit like a jet fighter :D

I just need to know how about PCIexpress slots? are there any cards that will work? Then i can start everything.
Thank you!!

it runs just fine but there is no improvements from 32bit to 64bit accept perhaps mysql and apache. that zm uses as back ends.

I've run Zoneminder on 64bit Fedora and Ubuntu platforms. In both instances I have not had any problems with the services crashing... just thought I'd present a couple of examples to the contrary so you know that it is possible to get Zoneminder working fine in 64bits.
