All,
I tinker with both ZM & Motion. Both are interesting software and definitely cool tools. I have ZM running on Ubuntu 9.04 with 9 cameras. A few IP, a couple of UVC, and some old V4L1 USB Webcams.
I have another machine that is running Ubuntu 8.04 with Motion. I can get the USB Kworld device working, video only; which is all I need. To it I have connected the X10 camera receiver.
I tried to get the Kworld device to work via Camserv so I could do a remote monitor, but no go there. Is there a way to add drivers to Camserv?
In Ubuntu 8.04 I modified /etc/modprobe.d/options to have options em28xx card=8. For 9.04 there is no options file. So just to test I did modprobe em28xx card=8 with no results on the ZM machine.
I suspect that Motion is calling a driver somewhere that makes it work? Not being a programmer I figured I would check with the minds? What are the differences?
Another question would be as follows: If I have Motion running on the other machine, port 8081 should I be able to grab it from ZM? I have tried various options in the remote host path, but no go. On the browser window for Motion I can see the Image is JPEG. I used options related to JPEG, but get a blank screen. Currently I have it set as /IMAGE.JPEG.
Any ideas please let me know?
OK, All I have it working as a remote cam using Motion on the other machine. So Cool. After pouring over both manuals and the forums.
For the Monitor section
Remote Host Path - MJPEG.CGI?
Capture Width - 360 (320 will break)
Capture Height - 240
In the Options>Network I changed ZM_HTTP_Version to 1.0.
This made it work. A great day for people who tinker.
Thanks,
